形态特征

• 雌性成虫3mm长，雄虫稍短，椭圆形，身体褐色到黑色，鞘翅上有褐色斑纹。

• 幼虫身体微黄色到金褐色，约6mm左右长。

生命周期

• 发育为成虫后，立即交配。

• 雌虫在一到六天内产卵多达80粒，卵在5至7天后孵化。

• 成虫仅存活一到两周。

习性

• This beetle is considered to be one of the world’s most destructive pests of grain products and seeds. Its preferred natural foods are wheat and malted barley, but it is frequently found in rice, peanuts and dried animal skins.

• Dead adults are not usually found as they are often cannibalised by larvae.
